Marbella is perhaps the Costa del Sol's most famous destination. A thriving Mediterranean town, Marbella is the destination of choice for wealthy Spaniards and upmarket Northern Europeans.

With a superb year round climate and a range of facilities and amenities, Marbella is a genuine all-year resort. The town itself features a picturesque old quarter, centred around Plaza de los Naranjos (Orange Square), and the cobbled streets and plazas are home to a plethora of bars, boutiques and classy restaurants. Marbella boasts great shopping with well-known designer names like Cartier, Chopard and Bulgari rubbing shoulders with the high-street brands.

The promenade in Marbella links the seafront restaurants and hotels with the Golden Mile, home to the palace of the Saudi Royal Family and several superb hotels including the legendary Marbella Club and Puente Romano. Marbella's landscape is dominated by the impressive La Concha mountain which offers winter protection for the town from the chill northerly winds.

The Costa del Sol's largest covered shopping centre can be found on the outskirts of Marbella. La Canada is home to a large variety of shops and restaurants, a superb gymnasium and a multiplex cinema. For those seeking nightlife, there are endless possibilities - no 'drinking up' at ten to 11 here! The locals eat late in Marbella, normall dining at 10pm, and even later at weekends, so the bars tend to get going at midnight, while those with the stamina should head to Olivia Valere on the Golden Mile or Suite at Puente Romano Hotel, where you can dance and drink til dawn!
