Mazarron
Mazarron lies in the South Eastern corner of Spain, to the west of Cartagena. It is said to possess some of the finest beaches in Spain and boasts a pleasant climate all year round. Because it is not thoroughly developed as a town yet, Mazarron is considered a fantastic location for families who want to spend their holidays in a peaceful way.
It takes about 1 ½ hours travel time to Mazarron from Alicante airport and an hour from San Javier Airport. The place may appear as one but is actually composed of two towns. The main town is where the town hall, produce markets, banks, medical facilities and shopping centers are located. The other town is where its pretty seafront sister is, the Puerto de Mazarron.
Many international investors and British expats have bought homes here because of the excellent combination of low cost housing and the luxury of warm sunshine all year through. There are also many attractions prepared by the locals in town which include mountain walking, sailing, sub-aqua diving and other activities such as live music and street parties during the summer. On the contrary, there are also times when the town is very quiet, which makes it ideal for a peaceful get-away vacation preferred by many people.
Mazarron is well-known for its luxurious seafood dishes and excellent golf courses which include the famous La Manga Club.
