Moraira

The old fishing town of Moraira lies about 8 kilometers away from Teulada. Nestled between Denia, Calpe and Altea, Moraira is a tranquil town on the Costa Blanca. It has managed to maintain its identity and fuse it with the benefits of modern tourism. An active tourist community has upgraded this sleepy town into a thriving hub of activity.

The mild Moraira weather makes leisurely strolls a fantastic treat. Narrow streets take you to the Plaza de la Constitucion (Constitution Square), where the Town Hall is located. Take a trip down memory lane and view the Church Square, which for most villages, towns and cities is considered the centre and includes the most valued property for local residents. Here, you can see the Saint Catherine Church, a Renaissance temple-fortress construction from the 16th century, which served as a hiding place for the townspeople when the pirates attacked.

Moraira is picturesque, with the Mediterranean Sea stretched out at its feet and a beautiful mountain range covering its back. Aside from historic architecture, the city also boasts crystal clear waters and a vibrant night life by the beach. It is also a fantastic venue to try out different water sports because the area is relatively safe.
